Mimi and Moose

Beautiful fluffy sisters 10m old. Born Jan 24.

Mimi and Moose (black and white) are bonded sisters. They came to PCL, with their brother, Mungo, via Pippa's Army in September, as semi feral strays.

After several weeks in the feral pen, it was clear they had great potential. They were moved into a pen of their own to help socialise them. They were strokable in the feral pen, especially Moose, just scared.

Moose is the most confident and really enjoys a fuss. Mimi is more hand shy but is fine once she gets used to the idea. She will take a bit more patience to learn to fully trust people. She is a funny little character - watch out for her in the video, pulling the biscuit bowl towards her with her paw!

Moose already seems to know just what to do with a licky treat, but Mimi kept trying to bite it instead of licking. They all loved it though so could be a useful socialising tool!

Below in feral pen:

They would ideally need a quiet room of their own to start with, without places where they can hide away out of reach. They can still have a crate or box etc to make them feel safe, just not beds and furniture to hide under or behind. That will give them the best chance to get used to their new home and owner and form a bond. If let loose into a whole house, it will take much longer to socialise them as they will likely just find somewhere to hide. We have more information from our cat behaviourist on how to socialise shy cats - please just ask.
