Stunning, shy black male 10 months old (Born Jan 24)
Mungo is a really stunning cat with beautiful soft glossy fur and golden eyes. He came into rescue with his bonded sisters, Mimi and Moose, via Pippa's Army in September, as semi feral strays.
After several weeks in the feral pen, they were moved into a pen of their own to help socialise them. They were strokable in the feral pen, just scared.
Mungo is the most shy of the 3, hiding unless food appears! He is, however, quicker to allow strokes than his sister Mimi. I was able to stroke him pretty quickly whilst distracted with biscuits this week. I don't think it would take long to bring him around fully with more one to one interaction. He just needs someone patient to give him a chance.
He would ideally need a quiet room of his own, without places where he can hide away out of reach. He can still have a crate or box etc to make him feel safe, just not beds and furniture to hide under or behind. That will allow him to get used to his new home and owner and form a bond. If let loose into a whole house, it will take much longer to socialise him as he will likely just find somewhere to hide. We have more information from our cat behaviourist on how to socialise shy cats - please just ask.
